and her nose stuck in a book
Sorry we've been on a bit of a hiatus recently. This summer has been a pretty busy one!

This is a potpourri post where you can talk about how y'all have been doing, what have you been up to, any big summer plans? New babies? Vacations? Have you cooked anything amazing recently? Talk, post photos, anything!

I'm 30 weeks pregnant today. I can't wait to meet my daughter! We had a 3D/4D scan on Monday and here's a picture from it. She looks just like my husband when he was a baby!

Wow, that's a really clear shot! How amazing!:D

Some were more clear than others. Her skin looked really bumpy in a few of them, but the tech said it was just the fluid making her look that way. ;)

My boy's birthday is the 28th, my birthday is the 24th, today is my late nephew's would-have-been first birthday, grandma passed away on the 2nd... lots going on.
19th-Jul-2007 09:01 pm (UTC) - Work, new tattoo, Harry Potter, high school reunions
I've been working a lot recently; the lady I support got a new wheelchair last week so she had to stay home while they were fixing up the new one. Other than that at work, I've been fighting back the weeds in the garden in the brief moments where it's not a)blazingly hot or b)raining like crazy.

I got my first tattoo yesterday (well, the outline of it) and it was amazing. I have a great artist working on it for me and she's really gentle.

In August, I'm going to a mini high school reunion of sorts at my high-school-best-friend's farm. It was all arranged over Facebook; it's really kind of funny.

And I'm impatiently waiting for the new Harry Potter! Tomorrow just after midnight, I will have book 7 in my hands and I'm spending the weekend at home alone (The Boy and Astrid are going to spend the weekend with his parents, heh) reading. It's sort of like a holiday for me!

Here's a detail of the baby eggplant on the back/almost armpit region:

OMG Meg! That looks so awesome! I was trying to look at your post earlier in your LJ, but it was being wonky.

I can't wait to see it all completed!
20th-Jul-2007 05:19 pm (UTC) - Re: Work, new tattoo, Harry Potter, high school reunions
Thanks!:D

Me too! I know it's going to REALLY hurt to get the colour put in, especially around the armpit region with the baby eggplant. It'll be really worth it though!:D

maelle still insists on using the potty every morning at 5am. she wiggles and grunts in bed until i take her (if i ignore her too long she cries--andshe isn't hungry), so i take her to use the baby potty. she pees, i empty it out, put her still-dry-from-the-night-before diaper back on, and we go right back to sleep.
19th-Jul-2007 09:09 pm (UTC)
Are you doing ECing? That's awesome! (Except for the up at 5am part)
19th-Jul-2007 09:38 pm (UTC)
we were just going to try, originally, but didn't start till i noticed that her diaper was dry every morning for several weeks. that was over a month ago, and she's peed in the potty almost every morning since. she basically will not pee in the bed (even though she has a diaper on). we only ec in the mornings.

Most OB appts go that way ;)

Maybe get a midwife instead? They'll take the time to show you things, and really form a relationship. It'll be hard to find that in most OBs.

It might be worth it. How far away is she?
20th-Jul-2007 02:35 am (UTC)
Yay!:D

Yeah, my OB appointments were always like that. Even the scariest ones were less than five minutes:(

Mmm, chips!
20th-Jul-2007 01:09 am (UTC)
not much new with me, i am near the beginning of my 3rd trimester of my 2nd pregnancy and want to do nothing but sleep.

i hope everyone is doing well!
20th-Jul-2007 03:22 am (UTC)

20th-Jul-2007 11:15 am (UTC)

I'm 20 weeks and one day... half way through! My belly isn't as big as I wanted though, so it gets me down. However, my belly button has been "burning" which I'm told means I will pop soon. I expected to in teh last month though (stupid weekly baby books), so I guess I just got ahead of myself...

I found out my babe has a vagina. That's exciting. I have already recieved bags and bags of donations, some I plan on donating/selling soon. I'm wonderign how many 0-3 months old outfits I need (and if there's a huge size difference in "newborn" sizes) and how many 3-6 month outfits I need... ect. It's strange doing this all for the first time. Oh, and I already named her, but I don't want anyone to steal it so I've only posted it in my personal journal. When I get closer to delivering, I'll tell everyone online. :]

I graduate massage school on September 14th and everyhting is actually letting up a bit (except for my anatomy classses, which oddly enough are both challenging and fun). I'm worried about where I'm going to come up with 500$ for my national exam and my licensing fees... Carlos and I got an apartment, too. The move in date is, ironically, September 12th. So, I'll be moving right after graduation. It'll be our first time living together (all the time instead of for a month or so).

That's my life. :]

I'm currently obsessing about homesteading and Brian and I are plotting our quickest escape from city life. I can't just research something, I have to RESEARCH it, so I am just not thinking clearly on anything else.

I can never evenly distribute my interests. I have to go completely overboard. Is that a good or bad thing?

My first goal is to set up a compost pile with worms! Vermicomposting!
20th-Jul-2007 05:49 am (UTC)
I go overboard too. I'm convinced for a few months at a time that I should do a PhD inwhatever my obsession is at the moment:)
21st-Jul-2007 04:07 am (UTC)
It must be a Virgo thing ;)
20th-Jul-2007 05:48 am (UTC)
My munchkin is getting huge and is suddenly gobbling down solids (at 10.5mo). I'm excited because it means we can really start working on weaning her off the SNS, but sad because I want her to be a little baby forever:)
WE're about to travel back to NY to visit family for three weeks. When we get back, I'm in packing mode- we are due to close on our first (town)home on 9/7!

Other then that, we're boring. I'm beginnign to think I might be okay with not actively TTA though....
20th-Jul-2007 06:27 pm (UTC)
i'm 24-25 weeks. time is flying, and i'm not sure whether i'm sad that my pregnancy is going so quickly, or happy that i'm getting closer and closer to meeting baby, or both. lol

finally made the ob-to-midwife switch, as our relocation permitted.

my fiance and i are vacationing in california next week.

baby either really loves or really hates harry potter - we went to see it yesterday and s/he kicked the crap out of me for 2 hours straight!

i think that's it.
23rd-Jul-2007 05:29 pm (UTC)
hmmm...mega job searching...but really just wanting to be pregnant again. i swear it's a sickness!!

my youngest(almost 7 months) just sprouted some teeth and is seemingly not interested in my boobs anymore and it's making me sooooo sad. my oldest just turned 2 on friday and we had a dora party. i am seriously considering boycotting character parties and toys.
