Where do you find your recipes? Do you have a great recipe site that you frequent? Any Livejournal communities related to food that you can't live without? Or are you strictly a cookbook gal?

Can you tell I'm looking for some new recipes? ;)

Also, today is the first day of the book club discussion! Don't forget to pop in over there if you're involved.

The Joy of Cooking is like my cooking bible. If I need to know the method of something (like, how to roast lamb or how to make a stew or muffins or whatever), it has EVERYTHING. It also has the most awesome pancake recipe I've ever used. If someone's trying to learn how to cook, this is a fabulous book for that too. It's very accessible and has a great glossary and index.

For vegetarian cooking, The Moosewood Cookbook has been an invaluable tool for me. It was actually my very first cookbook! I haven't made anything in it that I haven't liked!

I also have a subscription to Everyday Food magazine. I looove their recipes and ideas! I also love their Cookbook, which has great recipes and photos for each of them, which I also love.

Online, if I need a recipe, I'll usually just google either the specific recipe I'm looking for, or I'll google ingredients I have. I can usually find exactly what I'm looking for that way:) Recently I discovered arty_chokes which I LOVE. It's step-by-step vegetarian recipes with fabulous photos! I did a post recently for black bean and olive burritos there:) And fatfreevegan.com is AMAZING. There are so many good things there that even staunch meat eaters would love.

My family is vegetarian at home (husband eats meat while out, I lean vegan in general). I love cookbooks- its a sekrit addiction of mine:p

I find myself turning to the Mediterranean Vegan Kitchen a lot right now- its centered around a lot of fruits and vegetables that are only really fresh during the growing season here.

I also get a lot of inspiration from places like the veggie forum on MDC, Vegetarian Mother's Cookbook, vegweb.com, the fatfree vegan, and the moosewood books. And of course

We also have a few standbys each week- pizza with homemade dough and whatever veggies look good, burritos with rice, beans and veggies (spinach, avocado), pasta or stirfry with veggies...

When I do use a recipe it's almost always from a cookbook. My husband is a huge fan of Fanny Farmer's, and myself, I like whatever my hands come across. Usually I just make things up and wing it.

I love to get new ideas from food_porn, and if you read the recipes carefully www.allrecipes.com is pretty good.

I use the Canadian Living website as I cannot get the magazines here in Australia. I also try to follow the a href="http://www.hc-sc.gc.ca/fn-an/food-guide-aliment/index_e.html">Canada Food Guide.

I like that site, too, because you can read recipe reviews.

I have a pizza dough recipe that I LOVE if anyone wants it. It's nice because you don't have to let the dough rise before you bake it.
